Job summary

Sierra Pacific Industries is seeking an IT Technician to join our Red Bluff location. You will actively support IT operations across the U.S. using strong PC and network knowledge, troubleshoot issues by phone or remote tools, and ensure a positive user experience.

The role requires hands-on PC/laptop/printer repair, deployment and support of Microsoft products, and managing inventory. You’ll work in a team that values reliability and proactive problem solving.

Qualifications

• Two years of computer and network problem-solving experience, preferably in a commercial or large network.
• Knowledge of Windows Desktop/Server OS, Microsoft Azure, and Active Directory/Entra ID.
• Experience with Microsoft 365, Exchange, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policies.
• Familiarity with remote access to a business network (VPN, Wi‑Fi, WANs/LANs).

Responsibilities

• Actively support IT operations across the U.S. with strong PC and network knowledge.
• Troubleshoot issues by phone or remote-control tools and provide positive user experiences.
• Build, diagnose, and repair PCs, laptops, and printers; manage inventory of components.
• Install and support Microsoft and IBM i software and licensing; handle multi-time-zone Help Desk tasks.

About The Position

• Actively support the company IT operations throughout U.S. utilizing strong PC and network knowledge
• Efficiently and effectively troubleshoot and resolve technology issues by phone and/or remote-control tools
• Communicate with users to provide positive results and excellent user experience
• Coach and demonstrate for users best practice problem-solving methods
• Build, diagnose, and repair PCs, laptops, and printers
• Efficiently and conscientiously manage an inventory of computer components and supplies
• Address various and concurrent issues with timely and effective resolution
• Understand file/folder sharing, device sharing, and permissions
• Troubleshoot various network and Wi‑Fi issues to completion
• Work effectively within a Help Desk covering multiple time zones
• Install and support Microsoft, IBM i, and other business software and licensing

Qualifications

• Two years’ computer and network problem-solving experience (commercial/large network environment a plus)
• Knowledge of Windows Desktop, Server operating systems, Microsoft Azure, and Active Directory/Entra ID
• Experience with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, and Exchange
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policies
• Familiarity with remote connection to a business network: VPN, Wi‑Fi, WANs, & LANs
• Experience with Zebra label printers is preferred
• CCNA and/or A+ certifications or equivalent education is recommended
• Business network, wireless, and VOIP skills preferred
• Knowledge of anti-virus software and other desktop security products is preferred
• Ability to successfully work both independently and in a team environment

The general wage range for this position at Sierra Pacific Industries is from $25 and $32 per hour, and is dependent upon a number of factors, including, but not limited to: relevant work experience, skill, knowledge, and/or education.
