Job summary

Sierra Pacific Industries is seeking an IT Technician based in Phenix City, Alabama to support IT operations across the United States. You will respond to business needs, troubleshoot via phone or remote tools, and ensure a positive user experience.

The role involves PC/laptop/printer repair, network/Wi‑Fi troubleshooting, and collaboration with the Help Desk across time zones. Prior experience with Windows servers/desktops and Azure/Entra ID is preferred.

Qualifications

• Two years’ computer and network problem-solving experience.
• Experience with Windows Desktop/Server OS, Azure/Entra ID, and AD.
• Experience with Microsoft 365 and Exchange.
• Networking knowledge: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policies.
• Familiarity with VPN/remote access and VOIP is a plus.
• CCNA and/or A+ certifications recommended.

Responsibilities

• Support IT operations across the US with PC and network knowledge.
• Troubleshoot issues by phone or remote-control tools.
• Communicate with users for positive results and UX.
• Coach users in best practice problem-solving methods.
• Build, diagnose, and repair PCs, laptops, and printers.
• Manage inventory of components and supplies.
• Address concurrent issues with timely resolution.
• Understand file/folder sharing and permissions.
• Troubleshoot network/Wi‑Fi issues to completion.
• Work within a Help Desk across multiple time zones.
• Install and support Microsoft, IBM i, and other software and licensing.

This position is not remote and will be based from Phenix City, Alabama.

About the Position

• Actively support the company IT operations throughout U.S. utilizing strong PC and network knowledge
• Efficiently and effectively troubleshoot and resolve technology issues by phone and/or remote-control tools
• Communicate with users to provide positive results and excellent user experience
• Coach and demonstrate for users best practice problem-solving methods
• Build, diagnose, and repair PCs, laptops, and printers
• Efficiently and conscientiously manage an inventory of computer components and supplies
• Address various and concurrent issues with timely and effective resolution
• Understand file/folder sharing, device sharing, and permissions
• Troubleshoot various network and Wi-Fi issues to completion
• Work effectively within a Help Desk covering multiple time zones
• Install and support Microsoft, IBM i, and other business software and licensing

Qualifications

• Two years’ computer and network problem-solving experience (commercial/large network environment a plus)
• Knowledge of Windows Desktop, Server operating systems, Microsoft Azure, and Active Directory/Entra ID
• Experience with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, and Exchange
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policies
• Familiarity with remote connection to a business network: VPN, Wi-Fi, WANs, & LANs
• Experience with Zebra label printers is preferred
• CCNA and/or A+ certifications or equivalent education is recommended
• Business network, wireless, and VOIP skills preferred
• Knowledge of anti-virus software and other desktop security products is preferred
• Ability to successfully work both independently and in a team environment

The general wage range for this position at Sierra Pacific Industries is from $24 and $30 per hour, and is dependent upon a number of factors, including, but not limited to: relevant work experience, skill, knowledge, and/or education.
