Job summary

Sierra Pacific Industries seeks an IT Technician to be the hands‑on, on‑site face of our IT team at our Eugene, Oregon office, with occasional trips to nearby Noti. You will troubleshoot desktop and network issues, repair PCs and printers, and support Microsoft and IBM i software licensing.

Qualifications

• Two years’ computer and network problem‑solving experience (commercial/large network environment a plus)
• Knowledge of Windows Desktop, Server operating systems, Microsoft Azure, and Active Directory/Entra ID
• Experience with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft 365, and Exchange
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policies
• Familiarity with remote connection to a business network: VPN, Wi‑Fi, WANs, & LANs
• Experience with Zebra label printers is preferred
• CCNA and/or A+ certifications or equivalent education is recommended
• Business network, wireless, and VOIP skills preferred
• Knowledge of anti‑virus software and other desktop security products is preferred
• Ability to successfully work both independently and in a team environment

Responsibilities

• Communicate with users to ensure a positive experience
• Coach users on best-practice problem solving
• Build, diagnose, and repair PCs, laptops, and printers
• Manage inventory of computer components and supplies
• Handle concurrent issues with timely resolutions
• Understand file/folder and device sharing and permissions
• Conduct basic network tests and coordinate with central teams for advanced troubleshooting
• Collaborate with central IT teams while maintaining on-site ownership until resolution
• Install and support Microsoft, IBM i, and other software and licensing

We are looking for a IT Technician to become a valued member of our IT team that takes pride in effectively responding to business needs and directly contributing to the success of the company. This position is not remote and is based from our office in Eugene, Oregon, with occasional travel to Noti, OR.

About the Position
