Job summary

Omni Hotels & Resorts is seeking an IT Support Specialist to provide technical support on all computer systems, troubleshooting issues and maintaining compliance with corporate standards.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience in hospitality technology. Key responsibilities include managing IT operations, ensuring uptime, and providing excellent support to hotel staff.

Qualifications

  • Previous hospitality, healthcare, or retail experience is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a minimum of 3 years of relevant IT experience.
  • Preferred experience in Opera PMS, Micros POS, Networking, Microsoft O365.

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support on all computer systems in the hotel, installing hardware and software and maintaining the latest service packs.
  • Ensure proper operation of IT equipment while troubleshooting hardware or software issues.
  • Maintain IT systems and controls in compliance with corporate policy, PCI standards and other corporate IT standards.
  • Keep abreast of changes in user, system software, and hardware requirements.
  • Troubleshoot network and system problems, diagnose issues, recommend solutions, and engage vendors as needed.
  • Provide onsite assistance with company‑issued phones and act as liaison with Telecom Providers to ensure all phones are issued per company policy.
  • Troubleshoot basic telecommunications issues throughout the hotel, including guest rooms, and assist with telephone moves and changes.
  • Complete work assigned by the Omni Hotels & Resorts Service Desk on time; prioritize and elevate issues as needed.
  • Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated, approaches for system administration tasks to provide economies of scale.
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes.
  • Review system and application logs and verify completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
  • Perform regular security monitoring to identify possible intrusions.
  • Handle daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and data are successfully backed up to appropriate media.
  • Perform regular file archival and purges as necessary.
  • Provide Tier III or other support on request from various constituencies; investigate and troubleshoot issues.
  • Repair and recover from hardware or software failures, coordinating and communicating with impacted constituencies.
  • Apply OS patches and upgrades regularly; upgrade administrative tools and utilities.
  • Configure or add new services as necessary.
  • Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures.
  • Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.
  • Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
  • Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as needed.
  • Cover one or both weekend days as required; coordinate days off during the workweek.
  • Be on call and, at times, work off‑hours for critical system outages, upgrades; nights/holidays may be required.
Operations and Support
