Job description

Engineer I
Overview

To ensure a safe, efficient, and well‑maintained hotel environment. Respond to all work requests for guestrooms, function rooms, food outlets and public areas. Responsible for interior and the exterior of hotel.

Pay Rate: $24 - $28 per hour, based on experience
Responsibilities
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipate and address guests.
  • Respond and attend to guest repair requests.
  • Perform the necessary repairs to moderately complex equipment such as vacuum cleaners, toasters, lamps and small appliances as needed. Work is performed in a workshop environment and requires working at a workbench.
  • Understand and operate advanced electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and boiler systems.
  • Read and understand blueprints, schematic drawings, and technical parts breakdown.
  • Update the maintenance work order form/Job card.
  • Ability to interpret readings from meters & gauges and other measuring units.
  • Understand and call‑in problems with TV cable system through Sonifi.
  • Check for new maintenance requests from the Synergy Tablet and update remarks once the task is completed.
  • Ability to read and understand test equipment, measuring devices, and safety manuals.
  • Communicate with different types of people to comprehend what they want and to provide them with information and assistance.
Qualifications
  • High school graduate.
  • Ability to clearly communicated with proper grammar in English with guest/visitor and hotel personnel to their understanding.
  • Ability to provide legible communication.
  • Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.
  • Knowledge of SafLok System.
  • Knowledge of LodgeNet TV System.
  • Knowledge of RFID systems.
  • Basic knowledge in reading blueprints and log books.
  • Some college education.
  • Previous hotel experience.
  • Some formal classroom training in plumbing, electric, IT, carpentry, HVAC.
