Job summary

Magna International is seeking an IT Administrator – Network & Systems to join our Carrollton facility. The role focuses on configuring and maintaining Cisco switches, wireless networks, Windows Server environments, and core directory services to ensure reliable operations.

The ideal candidate will have 2+ years in network administration, hands-on Cisco switch experience, and strong collaboration across IT teams to support manufacturing systems and infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, VLANs, routing, DNS, DHCP, and common network troubleshooting methods.
• Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco network switches.
• Experience managing enterprise wireless access points and troubleshooting wireless connectivity.
• Experience administering Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.

Responsibilities

• Configure, deploy, and maintain Cisco switches, including VLANs, trunking, port security, spanning tree, and related network services.
• Manage wired and wireless network infrastructure, including enterprise access points, wireless controllers, coverage, performance, and secure connectivity.
• Monitor network availability and performance and troubleshoot connectivity, latency, packet loss, and device communication issues.
• Maintain accurate network diagrams, switch-port documentation, IP address records, equipment inventories, and configuration standards.
• Support network expansion projects, equipment installations, infrastructure upgrades, and coordination with IT and vendors.
• Assist with firewall, VPN, remote-access, and network security configuration and troubleshooting.
