Job summary

X is seeking an experienced IT Systems Engineer to join the IT Systems Team. You will build, deploy, and maintain robust Windows and Linux infrastructure, automate configurations with Puppet, and collaborate across engineering teams to deliver scalable, secure systems.

You will manage VMware environments, ensure compliance, and contribute to SOPs while supporting high availability and performance across the stack. This role offers broad responsibility in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in Systems Engineering for Corporate Infrastructure.
• Experience managing large Windows and Linux server environments.
• Virtualization at scale.
• Configuration Management.
• Experience with NetApp storage arrays.
• Developing and maintaining performance metrics for systems.
• Strong Puppet Enterprise and Puppet Open Source knowledge.
• Networking concepts basics.
• Scripting with Bash, Python, or Perl.
• VMware services including VMware data center virtualization and Horizon.

Responsibilities

• Build, manage, and support complex application stacks on Windows and Linux Servers.
• Provide Windows and Linux troubleshooting and technical support.
• Deploy, configure and support VMware technologies (vCenter, ESX, Horizon).
• Use Puppet Enterprise to automate configurations.
• Collaborate with other teams and vendors to implement scalable solutions.
• Ensure compliance with internal audit and compliance teams.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures.
• Participate in a 24/7 on‑call support rotation.
• Manage and monitor all installed Windows and Linux systems and infrastructure.
• Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems and system management tools.
• Proactively ensure high system availability and reliability.
• Monitor and optimize application performance, identify bottlenecks, and work with developers.
• Write and maintain custom scripts to improve efficiency and automation.
