Job summary

Valkyrie Enterprises seeks an IT Systems Engineer – Systems Administrator and Test Support to support classified computing environments at Naval Surface Warfare Center Port Hueneme. The hybrid role combines system administration and test engineering to maintain secure lab operations, administer Windows and Linux systems, and assist with AWS/SSDS software installation and maintenance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field or equivalent experience with 3+ years in IT.
• Experience administering Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Experience with hypervisors (ESXi preferred) and VM managers (vSphere preferred).
• Python scripting for automation and tooling requested.
• Familiar with network security fundamentals (firewalls, encryption, zero trust).

Responsibilities

• Manage Windows and Linux systems in classified lab environments.
• Install, configure, patch, troubleshoot, and maintain hardware and software.
• Maintain hardware, firmware, and software baselines across lab assets.
• Develop automation scripts and tools to optimize maintenance and security.
• Support test events and assist with test procedure development and validation.
