Job summary

Valkyrie Enterprises Inc. seeks an IT Systems Engineer - Systems Administrator and Test Support to manage Windows and Linux systems in classified lab environments at Port Hueneme, CA.

The role combines system administration with test support for AWS and SSDS components, ensuring secure, compliant lab operations. The ideal candidate will script in Python, maintain DoD baselines, work with virtualization (ESXi, vSphere), and contribute to test and evaluation procedures while supporting security

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or equivalent experience with at least 3 years in IT systems administration.
• Experience administering Windows and Linux operating systems in controlled environments.
• Experience with hypervisors (ESXi preferred) and VM managers (vSphere preferred).
• Python scripting for automation and operational tooling.
• Familiarity with networks and network security fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Manage Windows and Linux systems in classified lab environments.
• Install, configure, patch, troubleshoot, and maintain hardware and software across lab assets.
• Maintain secure lab infrastructure and DoD-compliant configurations.
• Develop automation scripts/tools in Python to optimize maintenance and security tasks.
• Support test events by operating combat system elements and assisting with test procedures.
