Job summary

Bank of Utah is seeking an IT Systems & Batch Automation Administrator I to support the core banking platform and related enterprise apps in Ogden, UT. You will monitor daily batch cycles and assist with basic system administration under senior guidance.

This entry-level role emphasizes stability, reliability, and learning operational processes, with on-call rotation for after-hours coverage and collaboration with IT teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred in IT/CS/IS or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience supporting enterprise applications, IT systems, or production/batch operations.
• Certifications such as CompTIA A+/Network+/Security+ are advantageous.
• Microsoft Windows Server fundamentals or equivalent coursework is a plus.
• Knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy concepts.
• Exposure to VMware or other virtualization platforms.
• Willingness to learn scripting/automation tools (PowerShell, Bash).
• Basic familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server concepts.
• General awareness of backup and disaster recovery concepts.
• Strong willingness to learn and follow established procedures.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily core banking operational processes (EOD/BOD, month- and year-end) under guidance.
• Assist with Automic batch automation and basic administration.
• Execute and monitor scheduled batch jobs and interfaces; escalate issues.
• Identify failed or delayed batch jobs and elevate to Tier II/III.
• Assist in building and maintaining batch job flows and dependencies.
• Monitor file transfers between core system and downstream apps; report failures.
• Assist with validation of system processing and reports.
• Maintain batch schedules documentation and SOPs; update as needed.
• Track batch performance trends and recurring issues.
• Provide basic production support for core banking apps under supervision.
