Job summary

Quarterhill Inc. is seeking an IT Specialist to provide technical support and coordinate IT initiatives. You will assist with IAM processes, automation projects, and IT policy enforcement while ensuring system reliability.

Responsibilities include incident troubleshooting, project coordination, inventory management, and security compliance. Travel may be required to support multiple locations and onsite initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years in technical support or IT coordination.
• Experience with hardware, software, and network troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Entra AD, and Intune certifications is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance for computer systems, software, and hardware.
• Troubleshoot issues and escalate when needed for timely resolution.
• Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and apps.
• Respond to service desk escalations and resolve hardware/software/network issues.
• Perform root cause analysis for recurring incidents to improve stability.
• Assist in coordinating IT projects, planning, scheduling, and tracking timelines.
• Maintain IT inventory and coordinate procurement/disposal of assets.
• Run routine maintenance, monitor performance, and enforce security policies.
• Automate repetitive tasks and provisioning workflows using scripting (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
• Provide end-user training and create user guides; conduct IT orientation for new hires.
• Ensure compliance with IT policies and prepare reports on metrics and trends.
