Job summary

Temporal Technologies is seeking an IT Systems Engineer to own the architecture and automation behind the systems employees rely on daily. You will manage identity, device management, endpoint security, and IT automation, while also serving as the onsite IT presence in our San Francisco office.

You’ll lead multi-team initiatives, set technical standards, and mentor IT Support Specialists. Expect close collaboration with Security, Engineering, and People teams to keep our growing environment

Qualifications

• 8+ years of IT or systems engineering experience, owning platforms, not just operating them.
• Deep expertise in at least one: identity and access (Okta, Entra ID), device management, or endpoint security/zero trust tooling.
• Strong scripting and automation skills with APIs and SaaS integrations; experience with AI coding assistants/LLMs.
• Experience leading cross-functional projects to completion with clear stakeholder alignment.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture, reliability, and roadmap for core IT platforms (identity, device management, endpoint security).
• Design and build automation and internal tooling to reduce manual work and enable self-service for employees.
• Lead multi-team technical initiatives end to end—from architecture to rollout and communication.
• Set IT standards and write design docs and runbooks for repeatable success.
• Evaluate tools and vendors; tradeoffs, cost, risk, and scale considerations.
• Partner with Security to implement controls supporting compliance requirements.
• Serve as escalation point for complex issues and drive root-cause fixes.
• Mentor IT Support Specialists and raise the team's technical bar.
