Job summary

Houston Food Bank is seeking a Systems Administrator to manage day-to-day IT systems and infrastructure. You will provide Tier 1/2 support, manage user access in Active Directory/Azure AD, and support Microsoft 365 and endpoint management solutions.

The role requires owning assigned systems, improving reliability, and communicating technical information to users with strong customer service. Key duties include endpoint provisioning, device lifecycle management, VPN and AV system support,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 3+ years of experience supporting users in an enterprise environment.
• Experience with Active Directory (hybrid environments preferred).
• Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
• Ticketing systems (Zendesk or similar).
• Basic knowledge of A/V systems, including Extron devices.
• Experience managing multiple tickets with competing priorities.
• Understand role-based access control (RBAC) for assigning permissions.
• Authentication methods (SSO, MFA).
• Familiarity with ITIL/SLA.
• Experience with Windows desktop operating systems.
• Experience with Microsoft Cloud services.

Responsibilities

• Reliable, consistent attendance is a requirement.
• Endpoint & Device Management: Provision, configures, and deploys endpoint devices.
• Maintains device lifecycle including imaging, patching, and decommissioning.
• Manages device inventory and asset tracking.
• Supports and troubleshoots Fortinet VPN client.
• Supports laptops such as Lenovo, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals.
• Identity & Access Management: Create/modify/deactivate user accounts; manage groups and access rights.
• Onboarding & Offboarding: account creation, device provisioning, access setup; timely deactivation and asset recovery.
• AV & Collaboration Technology: Supports Teams/Zoom rooms and AV systems.
• Systems Ownership & Operations: improve efficiency, automation, and user experience; maintain docs.
• Desktop Support: first point of contact; diagnose and resolve hardware/software issues.
• Ensure security and compliance with policies; coordinate with IT staff and vendors.
