Job summary

SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium seeks an Systems Administrator I to support SEARHC IT infrastructure across on‑prem and cloud platforms. You will install components, document procedures, and implement security configurations while providing Tier 3 support to the Infrastructure team.

Ideal candidates have 2–4 years in Windows/Linux server management, AD/LDAP expertise, and scripting in PowerShell or Perl. Travel to Southeast Alaska locations is expected.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of work experience managing Windows and Linux/Unix based server systems.
• Knowledge of AD/LDAP, enterprise anti-virus, backup and monitoring systems.
• Experience with hands-on configuration and responsibility for enterprise IT systems.
• Health-care IT experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports all Systems and Infrastructure for SEARHC, including on-prem and cloud platforms.
• Executes project-related tasks and maintains documentation and procedures.
• Maintains Windows Server environment, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and backup systems.
• Participates in training and education on IT infrastructure and improvements.

Pay Range:Pay Range:$36.46 - $51.29 The Systems Administrator I supports all Systems and Infrastructure for SEARHC, within both internal and cloud platforms. Performing maintenance tasks independently such as installing new infrastructure components, creating system documentation and procedures, installing software and firmware updates of Infrastructure components, while upholding the security configurations within these systems. The Systems Administrator I provides Tier 3 support to resolve issues that are assigned to the Systems Infrastructure team. Being able to learn new technologies quickly and adapt to new ideas and new methodologies is a must. This position is expected to participate in the critical system support structure with other IT departments. Travel is by jet, small aircraft, and ferry.Education, Certifications, and Licenses RequiredHigh School Diploma and demonstrates the knowledge, skill, and ability to perform the key responsibilities of the position.BS in Information Systems or related field preferredMicrosoft or Citrix certifications preferred.Experience Required2-4 years’ work experience managing Windows and Linux/Unix based server systems.A degree in a related field may be substituted for experienceKnowledge of several of the following: AD/LDAP, enterprise anti-virus, enterprise backup systems, enterprise monitoring/reporting systems. Knowledge of common databases, such as: Oracle/MSSQL/MySQL, etc.Demonstrated work in hands on configuration, maintenance, and direct responsibility for enterprise IT systems, with preference for a Health Care environment.Scripting/Programming experience and background preferred.Preference for a modern scripting language, especially Perl, Python, PHP, Powershell, WSH, etc.Familiarity with ITIL, HIPAA, HITECH, and other standards applicable to Health Care IT preferred.Skills inHighly proficient in/with Active Directory, DHCP, and DNS.Familiar with PowerShell.Enterprise-grade system monitoring technologies.Ability toMaintain detailed and accurate records related Infrastructure SystemsCreate, follow, and maintain documentation and checklists to ensure efficiency and consistency.Travel as needed.
