Qualifications

• Experience supporting Linux, Windows, and Mac OS in a research environment.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 3–5 years of experience.
• Knowledge of Apache, MySQL, PHP, and Drupal in web services.
• Programming/scripting in Perl, Python, or Unix shell.
• Networking concepts: VLANs, DNS/DHCP, firewalls; Windows/Mac/Linux support.
• Strong communication and independent task management.

Responsibilities

• Support Linux servers and workstations in a research setting.
• Oversee networking, backup, security, software/hardware installs, and troubleshooting.
• Provide consulting and troubleshooting for faculty and staff; maintain resources.
• Coordinate with A&S IT teams and other departments on projects.
• Assist the college server administrator with special tasks and day-to-day work.
