The IT Specialist provides comprehensive technical support and technology services for the department, serving as a primary resource for help desk operations, classroom technology, and audiovisual systems. This position independently diagnoses and resolves technical issues, supports faculty, staff, students, and departmental users, and ensures reliable technology operations across instructional and administrative environments. Due to the natural flux of UGA’s staff, faculty, and students, the applicant must be self-motivated and proactive in identifying and solving issues related to the spaces used by the people we support. The role leads classroom and A/V technology management, coordinates technology projects and equipment lifecycle planning, develops recommendations for technology solutions and standards, and provides guidance and training to support effective service delivery and a high level of customer support.
