Job summary

West Virginia University is seeking a Professional Technologist 2 to provide comprehensive IT support for the Davis College of Agriculture and Natural Resources and related units. The role includes system maintenance, inventory control, and user assistance across campus labs.

The position reports to the Director of Strategic Communications, Marketing and Technology and requires collaboration with multiple departments to enhance teaching and research technology and secure data integrity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related fields.
• A minimum of two (2) years of applicable work experience in a computer-related customer support field, consulting or training on information technology systems, and web application support and/or troubleshooting.
• Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Assists in updates, installations, and maintenance of information technology systems used throughout Davis College of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
• Provides quotes for various hardware and software purchases as needed.
• Troubleshoots various network issues, including wiring, switch port configurations, and testing of network-attached peripherals.
• Assists in support of all computer labs used for teaching and research at Davis College, including responding to time-sensitive and urgent technology matters as needed.
• Maintains Active Directory accounts and processes inbound inventory to ensure data is secure and properly transferred to surplus.
