Job summary

Pierce County Parks and Recreation is seeking an IT support professional to lead desktop, hardware, network, and security efforts across the department. You will work within a large, collaborative team to keep systems running and staff productive.

Responsibilities include setting up devices, assisting with IT projects, managing inventory, and coordinating equipment purchases. A background in IT and strong communication are essential to success.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in computer science, data processing, education, public or business administration, engineering, or related field.
  • Two or more years of information technology applications and systems experience is required.
  • Resume and cover letter are required for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to workstations and related hardware/software; provide user account assistance.
  • Set up and issue PCs, laptops, and other hardware to department staff following IT Division standards.
  • Assist in setting up department-wide IT project timelines/plans.
  • Participate in the research and purchase of computer equipment and supplies.
  • Organize and maintain inventory of computer equipment and supplies; assist with disposal of surplus equipment.
