SPS North America is seeking an IT Support Specialist focused on secure data sanitization, storage device management, and basic hardware troubleshooting. The role emphasizes data security, accurate inventory tracking, and adherence to policies for disposal and compliance.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on computer experience, familiarity with data wiping tools (DBAN, Blancco, DiskPart), and a strong commitment to detail and process documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience with computers and IT support.
• Basic understanding of hardware and storage devices.
• Familiarity with data sanitization tools and secure wiping procedures.
• Ability to follow security procedures and document processes.
• Experience maintaining inventory records and serial numbers.

Responsibilities

• Perform secure data wiping of drives using tools such as DBAN, Blancco, DiskPart, or equivalent software.
• Ensure all data erasure activities comply with security policies and regulations.
• Document successful data sanitization with accurate records for compliance.
• Identify devices that cannot be securely wiped and escalate for proper handling.
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic hardware and storage issues.
• Perform routine system maintenance including disk cleanup and storage optimization.
• Assist with hard drive installation, replacement, and configuration.
• Support disk cloning and imaging tasks as needed.
• Diagnose HDD/SSD/NVMe issues and asset tracking.
• Maintain inventory records with serial numbers and disposal status.
• Coordinate proper e-waste disposal per policy.
