- Support personal computers, servers, and local area networks (LANs) used in federal office settings
- Support PC and network environments, including printers, scanners, and other peripherals
- Install, test, and repair computer hardware and software within networked environments
- Configure operating systems and application software according to agency requirements
- Respond to end-user support needs via telephone, email, or in-person interactions
- Train users on proper operation of PC desktop hardware and common software packages
- Diagnose hardware and software issues using technical tools and best practices
- Coordinate computer system repairs with appropriate service providers or internal staff
- Resolve system and network-related issues through direct support and technical collaboration
- Participate in the evaluation of system configurations and software performance
- Provide general help desk support through multiple communication channels
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS- Hands-on familiarity with the network, telecommunications, and operating systems environment of the applications being supported
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Pleasant telephone manner skills
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE- Experience providing direct end-user support for the applications being supported, including both telephone support and on-site assistance to users
- Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook or equivalent government office software
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE- Experience teaching/training involving computer applications, preferably database, imaging, or other automated litigation support applications
- Experience in automated litigation support
- Experience with Department of Justice office automation environments
EDUCATION- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Undergraduate degree preferred
