Job summary

Northtown Automotive Group is seeking a Level 2 IT Support Technician to join our on-site team in Buffalo. This role will serve as an escalation point for Tier 1 issues, resolving complex problems across Windows endpoints, Microsoft 365, networking, and Active Directory/Entra ID environments.

You'll blend hands-on troubleshooting with light systems administration, mentor junior technicians, and help improve our documentation and processes to reduce downtime and improve operations.

Qualifications

• Experience with Windows and/or Linux server administration.
• Active Directory/Entra ID, networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Basic security practices.
• Strong documentation habits.
• Effective communication with stakeholders on-site.

Responsibilities

• Escalation point for Tier 1 support and resolve complex issues.
• Maintain Windows endpoints, Microsoft 365, networking, and AD/Entra ID environments.

The Level 2 Tech/System Admin role is a full-time, on-site position based in Buffalo.Northtown Automotive Group is looking for a Level 2 IT Support Technician to join our team. In this role, you'll serve as an escalation point for Tier 1 support, resolving complex issues across Windows endpoints, Microsoft 365, networking, and Active Directory/Entra ID environments.You'll combine hands-on troubleshooting with light systems administration, and you'll help mentor junior technicians and improve our documentation and processes along the way.Valid and active NYS drivers license is requiredCandidates must possess strong troubleshooting and Technical Support skills for resolving escalated system and user issues.Candidates must possess Maintenance & Repair skills for hardware, software, Server, and network components in business environments.Candidates must possess Preventive Maintenance skills to monitor systems, apply updates, and reduce downtime.Candidates must possess Training skills to guide users and mentor junior team members on tools, best practices, and procedures.Experience with Windows and/or Linux server administration, Active Directory, networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and basic security practices.VMware Knowledge a Plus.Strong documentation habits, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize multiple support requests and projects.Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with technical and nontechnical stakeholders on-site.Relevant certifications (such as CompTIA A+,Network+, Security+, or Microsoft certifications) orMicrosoft certifications) or equivalent practical experiences are beneficial.
