Job summary

Ohio Department of Public Safety in Columbus seeks an Information Technologist 2 to support law enforcement information systems. You will provide Tier II maintenance and documentation, guide end users through troubleshooting, and enhance existing infrastructure under IT leadership.

Primary technology is SQL Server; secondary technology is Microsoft Windows. This full-time role follows 7:00 am–7:00 pm shifts with onsite benefits and growth opportunities in the ODPS IT Office.

Qualifications

• Completion of associate core program in computer science or information systems.
• AND 12 mos. combined work experience as specified by the agency position description & job posting.
• Or 18 mos. combined work experience in computers/telecommunications software/hardware, applications, support products, projects or databases for small scale systems or larger programs.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of assigned supervisor within the Ohio Department of Public Safety (ODPS), Information Technology Office (ITO), provide Tier II maintenance & documentation support to Law Enforcement information system users &/or IT specialists & generate enhancements for existing infrastructure, software or database systems in compliance with specifications & standards.
• Perform analyses & guide end users through troubleshooting procedures using diagnostic techniques.
• Utilize software tools (i.e., Microsoft Tools) to inspect databases.
• Installation & configuration of desktop software & hardware.
