Job summary

Ohio Department of Public Safety in Columbus is seeking an Agency Information Security Professional 1 to configure, monitor and improve enterprise security and to support secure coding practices within the SDLC.

The role focuses on vulnerability assessment, code review in C#/.NET and SQL, and triage of security alerts, with opportunities for advancement within the cyber security program.

Qualifications

• 36 months of experience in computer data security via monitoring traffic or systems development
• Associate core program in computer science
• 18 months training or 18 months exp in computer data security via monitoring traffic or data
• Undergraduate core program in computer science
• 12 months training or 12 months exp in computer data security via monitoring traffic or data
• 12 months exp as IT Apprentice or completion of Ohio Cyber Apprenticeship program with 12 more months in IS/IT

Responsibilities

• Configure, support & monitor enterprise security tools to safeguard State assets.
• Deliver secure code review assessments of C#/.NET and SQL; identify vulnerabilities with automated & manual tools (e.g., Checkmarx).
• Contribute to development & delivery of secure coding & remediation training; promote SDLC integration.
• Monitor daily cyber security events; triage SOG alerts; remediate Level 1 & 2 alerts; escalate as needed.
• Participate in penetration tests; perform vulnerability scans; present monitoring/test results & reports.
