Job summary

The City of Kingsville is seeking a Help Desk Technician to assist internal and external customers with information technology components. The role requires operating and maintaining computers, user support across remote, email, phone and on-site channels, and preventive maintenance to ensure systems adhere to security policies.

Ideal candidates have an Associate's degree in computer science or related field and at least two years of desktop support experience.

Qualifications

Associate's degree in computer science, networking or related field
Two years technical or desktop support experience involving extensive public contact
Ability to document processes and provide instructions in written format
Knowledge of Windows and MS Office and basic security procedures

Responsibilities

Operates, installs and maintains computers and associated equipment.
Provides support through remote, email, telephone and on-site methods.
Performs routine repairs, daily troubleshooting and preventive maintenance; conducts internal compliance checks.
Maintains electronic systems including telephones, printers, copiers, and other peripherals.
Implements updates to web site information and assists with web content development.
Trains internal and external customers in the effective use of computers and electronic services.
Ensures security of software and maintains logs and statistics.
