Job summary

Discovery Land Company is seeking an IT Support Engineer to join the Information Technology Department. This role will be located at one of the company’s project sites and will support desktop, server, and networking systems for staff and affiliates.

You will diagnose and resolve complex IT issues, install/configure hardware and software, and coordinate with vendors. Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Proven experience in IT support, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
• Strong knowledge of Windows and/or macOS operating systems.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and other commonly used business applications.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Customer-focused with commitment to high-quality support.
• Industry certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician) are a plus.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assists staff with technical support of desktops, applications, servers and related technology.
• Specifies, installs, and tests computer systems and peripherals within standards.
• Diagnoses and resolves non-recurring problems involving software and OS.
• Supports IT Director and assumes progressive responsibilities in IT infra.
• Provides hardware/software support to local and remote users.
• Troubleshoots applications, SQL Server, LAN/WAN, and customer service issues.
• Installs, configures, and maintains desktop/server platforms and peripherals.
• Works with vendor contacts to resolve issues with desktop, server, and networking systems.
• Trains staff on use of hardware and software; orders desktop/server components and tracks fulfillment.
• Oversees scope changes and manages project communications and risk mitigation.
• Maintains a Issues Management database for projects.
