Job summary

Jackson County Government is seeking a supervisor for the Information Technology department to oversee the Support Center operations and staff.

The role involves evaluating equipment requests, procurement, bid specs, and guiding technical projects with evolving requirements. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years supervising technical staff, plus a Missouri driver’s license and pre-employment screenings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Three years of related work experience that includes supervising technical employees.
• Possess/maintain valid Missouri Driver's License and provide transportation.
• Must submit to/pass pre-employment background and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operations of the Support Center staff and set policies and procedures; direct and review subordinates.
• Review equipment requests, perform product research and procurement, and prepare bid specifications and submittal reviews.
• Lead projects in highly technical areas where requirements may be vague or evolving.
• Handle support tickets and mentor team members as needed.

Job Duties:

• R esponsible for the operations of the Support Center staff. The employee sets Support Center policies and procedures, and assigns, directs, and reviews the work of subordinates.
• R eviews and evaluates requests for equipment and Support Services, performs product research and procurement, produces bid specifications, and performs bid submittal reviews.
• The assigned projects to this employee may pertain to highly technical areas in which the constraints defining the nature of the system are initially vague or unknown
• handles support tickets and provides assistance to the team when additional help, training and mentoring is needed

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Three years of related work experience that includes experience in supervising technical employees.
• Must possess/maintain valid Missouri Driver's License and provide his/her own transportation.
• Must submit to/pass pre-employment background and drug screen.
