Job summary

nextSource Connect is seeking an IT Support Admin I (M&A Asset Configuration Technician) in Houston for a 9-month contract. You’ll image laptops/desktops, configure devices, VoIP and network hardware, and perform hardware/software troubleshooting across multiple sites.

Responsibilities include data backups, asset inventory, AD administration, LAN troubleshooting, documentation, ticket management, and PC refresh projects. Strong imaging, AD, and Windows 11 expertise are required.

Qualifications

• Imaging PCs at scale using PXE boot and USB.
• Knowledge of networking, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365.
• Intermediate-to-expert knowledge of Windows 11; experience with ServiceNow and remote support tools.

9-Month Contract

Location: Houston, TX 77040

Start/End: ASAP – July 16, 2027

Schedule: Mon - Fri, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Pay Rate: $23.89/hour

Our client is seeking an IT Support Admin I (M&A Asset Configuration Technician) to configure, deploy, test, track, and support devices across multiple office locations. In this role, you will image laptops and desktops, configure VoIP phones and network equipment, perform hardware troubleshooting and warranty repairs, validate new images, and report findings to the Tools Team for resolution.

You will also support data backup, asset inventory, shipping and receiving, Active Directory administration, LAN troubleshooting, documentation development, ticket management, and PC refresh and acquisition projects.

Primary Duties:

• Image laptops and desktops
• Configure computers and install third-party software
• Configure VoIP phones and network hardware
• Troubleshoot software and hardware issues
• Perform warranty repairs and hands-on hardware repairs
• Troubleshoot network and LAN issues
• Perform basic Active Directory tasks, including routine account and device administration
• Perform data backups
• Handle shipping and receiving of assets
• Lift up to 50 lbs as needed
• Create and maintain technical procedures, configuration records, and troubleshooting documentation

Mandatory Skills/Experience:

• Experience imaging PCs at scale using PXE boot and USB
• Knowledge of networking, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365
• Intermediate-to-expert knowledge of Windows 11
• Experience with ServiceNow and remote support tools
• Experience with PC hardware and software troubleshooting, VoIP configuration, data backup, third-party software installation, and asset handling
• Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines and collaborate effectively within a team

Required Skills:

• Asset and inventory handling
• Imaging experience with PXE and USB
• Basic Active Directory and SCCM experience
• Intermediate-to-expert proficiency with Windows 11
• Software installation via manual methods and Software Center
• Strong troubleshooting and multitasking skills

Desired Skills:

• Intermediate Microsoft Excel experience
• Knowledge of AI tools and the ability to leverage AI for process improvements

Education/Experience:

• Associate's degree, relevant IT certification(s), or a minimum of 2 years of related experience in a corporate IT support environment is required
