Job summary

Carnival is seeking an IT Support Administrator to serve as the primary point of contact for computer, systems, and network support across the Seattle location.

The role includes procuring, maintaining, and decommissioning infrastructure, configuring switches and VLANs, and ensuring software updates while coordinating with vendors and cross‑functional teams. You will document processes and contribute to IT projects to improve manufacturing efficiency.

Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science or 4 years of equivalent IT experience.
  • Experience supporting Windows, macOS, and Linux in a manufacturing environment.
  • Relevant certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+) or CCNA preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first‑level IT support for end‑users.

Job Overview

The IT Support Administrator is the go-to person that provides employees and the company with computer, systems, peripheral, and network support. The position is responsible for the procurement, maintenance, and decommissioning of the infrastructure and systems present at their location.

Responsibilities
  • Conform to ISO and NIST regulations for policies and procedures in relation to network security and configuration.
  • Create, execute, and maintain procedures and scripts to automate various IT tasks.
  • First‑level tech support for end‑users.
  • Management of desktop computers, servers, and office peripherals.
  • Address and resolve user issues with hardware, software, and other tech assets.
  • Ensure software maintenance and coordinate with third‑party vendors as necessary.
  • SNMP configuration and management.
  • Configure switches, access points, and VLANs.
  • Provide timely support to identify and resolve IT‑related issues in day‑to‑day operations, including hardware and software troubleshooting.
  • Assist in the installation and configuration of hardware components, as well as the deployment and maintenance of various software applications utilized across different departments.
  • Document IT processes, protocols, and standard operating procedures to ensure all IT operations are well‑documented for future reference.
  • Aid employees with IT‑related queries and concerns, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Contribute to ongoing IT projects, including system upgrades, software integrations, and the implementation of new technologies to enhance overall manufacturing efficiency.
Education & Experience
  • BS in Computer Science OR 4 years equivalent work experience.
Suggested Certifications
  • CompTIA A+
  • CompTIA Network+
  • CompTIA Security+
  • CCNA
  • CCT
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals
Skills
  • Expert in computer hardware and peripherals.
  • Advanced knowledge of operating systems including all versions of Windows, macOS, and various distributions of Linux.
  • Basic knowledge in networking: routers, wireless Wi‑Fi, IPv4 and IPv6, gateways, DNS, and subnets.
  • Daily network tasks: testing network traffic, interlinking workstations and manufacturing equipment, and patching connectivity issues.
  • Knowledge of networking tools such as Wireshark, Nmap, cabling tools, and cable test units.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to adapt to a dynamic manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
