Job summary

Teachers' Retirement System of Louisiana seeks an Application Leader to guide a software development team delivering enterprise solutions using .NET technologies within an Agile SCRUM framework. Qualifications

  • Six years of information technology experience or equivalent combinations as listed.
  • Experience substitutions: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field.
  • A certification in an approved area may be substituted for the education and/or experience requirements at the time of hire or promotion.

  • Deep understanding of Agile principles, practices, and tools (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
  • Knowledge of project management frameworks, methodologies, and tools (e.g., PMI, Waterfall).
  • Strong supervision and leadership skills are required to lead our team of software developers.
  • While relevant certifications are preferred, we value experience and skills.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Six years of experience in information technology; OR
  • Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus four years of experience in information technology; OR
  • An associate's degree in information technology plus four years of experience in information technology; OR
  • A bachelor’s degree plus four years of experience in information technology; OR
  • A bachelor’s degree with twenty-four semester hours in an information technology, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or business analytics field plus three years of experience in information technology; OR
  • A master’s degree plus three years of experience in information technology.
Experience Substitution:

Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Note:

A certification in an approved area may be substituted for the education and/or experience requirements at the time of hire or promotion, provided the appointment is made from a Certificate of Eligibles.

  • Address conflicts or issues promptly and professionally.
  • Provide regular feedback, coaching, and guidance to team members to help them grow professionally.
Position-Specific Details

Appointment Type: This vacancy may be filled as a Probation, Promotion, or Detail to Special Duty. Current classified permanent status employees may be required to accept a Probational Appointment.

TRSL will consider candidates eligible for full-time work/practical training in Curricular Practical Training (CPT) or Optional Practical Training (OPT) student status.

Compensation

This position has a Special Entrance Rate (SER) as follows: $2,611.20 bi-weekly
