Job summary

Sentara in Virginia Beach is seeking an IT Specialty Analyst for Epic HIM Coding to maintain, optimize, and support the Epic HIM Coding applications daily. You will analyze workflows with HIM Coding, CDI, and Revenue Cycle teams to identify improvements that boost coding accuracy and regulatory compliance.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree (preferable) in IT/HIM/Healthcare Admin or related field and an Epic HIM Coding Certification, with 3+ years of IT analysis experience supporting Epic HIM

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT/HIM/related field preferred; 5+ years may substitute.
• Active Epic HIM Coding Certification required.
• Experience configuring and optimizing Epic HIM Coding workflows.
• Strong knowledge of inpatient and outpatient coding and revenue cycle.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support, optimization, maintenance, and enhancement of Epic HIM Coding applications.
• Collaborate with HIM Coding, CDI, Revenue Cycle, and clinical/technical teams on enhancements.
• Analyze workflows, gather requirements, and translate needs into system solutions.

This role collaborates closely with HIM Coding, Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI), Revenue Cycle, and operational teams to analyze workflows, identify system improvement opportunities, and implement solutions that support coding accuracy, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency. The analyst serves as a subject matter expert for Epic HIM Coding functionality, participates in system upgrades, testing activities, incident resolution, and change management processes, and provides ongoing support to end users. The base pay range for full-time employment is $89,294.40 - $131,851.20 annually. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
