Job summary

United States Attorneys' Offices is seeking an Information Technology (IT) Specialist to provide technical and advisory support for the Information Management needs of the USAO. The role includes day-to-day IT operations, network access management, and coordination of teleconferencing for legal training.

Responsibilities expand with training and experience, including installing updates, maintaining systems, and delivering user training on standard and specialized applications.

Qualifications

• One full year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level in federal service.
• Education at the graduate level must be in an accredited college or university and must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position.

Responsibilities

• Manages accounts, network rights and access to system equipment.
• Assists the webmaster and develops, tests and implements internet, intranet and extranet litigation support activities.
• Provides user training and assistance on a variety of routine and specialized applications.
• Provides a wide variety of technical support services to coordinate teleconference and distance learning activities to effectively deliver legal training using electronic and or telecommunications media.
• Installs routine updates and patches to existing programs. Maintains operating systems components based on knowledge of the organizations operational environment.
• Provides customer service and support in troubleshooting, recovering and resolving hardware/software interface and interoperability problems.
• Implements policies and procedures to ensure information systems reliability.
• Monitors functionality, security, and integrity of internet services.
• Installs, configures, troubleshoots, and maintains customer hardware and software.
• Provides expert technical advice and guidance on digital communications issues.
• Maintains and controls the districts phone and telecommunications inventory.
