Job summary

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Information Management/Information Technology seeks an Operations Officer to serve under the direct supervision of the Division or District IT Chief for the local activity.

You will oversee day-to-day IT operations and ensure alignment of programs with the mission. The role is filled through Direct Hire Authority for DoD personnel, with requirements for background investigation and a Secret security clearance.

Qualifications

• Background investigation may be required.
• Secret Security Clearance required.
• CPD requirements for cyber work roles (foundational within 9 months, resident within 12 months, 20 hours CPD per work role).

• Maintain a continuing overview of all programs within the local facility to ensure they are aligned and supportive of the mission.
• Direct policy, procedural, and operational changes to increase program effectiveness and mission accomplishment.
• Stay apprised of trends, problems, and developments in operation areas.
• Coordinate specific tasks, discussing potential problems, and possible solutions.
• Review, analyze, and evaluate actions, taskers, and activities through detailed technical correspondence, reports and briefings, and recommends implementation methodology and way ahead.
• Oversee day to day operational activities in order to lead needed actions or advise the IT Chief and leadership.

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position:

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Incumbent must obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
• In accordance with DoDM 8140.03 and supplemental Army guidance, the employee must obtain and maintain the following requirements for each Cyber work role (except Data, AI, and/or Software Engineering) at the assigned proficiency level:
• 1) Foundational qualification requirements within 9 months, 2) Resident qualification requirements within 12 months, 3) 20 hours of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) per work role code (which can overlap).
