Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot LAN components such as routers and switches; configure VLANs and routing protocols.
  • Use network management tools (e.g., SNMP monitors) to analyze traffic and troubleshoot connectivity.
  • Assist with network firewall management by implementing and troubleshooting ACLs or rule sets.
  • Perform configuration backups and apply security patches; assist with vulnerability remediation.

Job description

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-02 (or GS-11 equivalency) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.

  • Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Local Area Network (LAN) components such as routers and switches, including configuring VLANs, routing protocols, or switch port security.
  • Experience using network management tools (e.g., SNMP-based monitors) to analyze network traffic, monitor device performance, and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
  • Experience assisting with the management of network firewalls by implementing and troubleshooting access control lists (ACLs) or rule sets.
  • Experience performing configuration backups of network devices, applying security patches or updates to network hardware, and assisting with vulnerability remediation on network components.

Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate.

Experience:

  4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
