• Respond quickly and effectively to requests received through the IT helpdesk.
• Document internal procedures, user guides, and IT-related instructions.
• Assist with network and hardware troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs.
• Collaborate with IT Administrator to ensure smooth deployment of new and upgraded systems.
• Maintain user PCs, printers, servers, and other hardware technologies.
• Coordinate with vendors for the repair of system malfunctions that are beyond the scope of internal capability.

The IT Specialist will report directly to the IT Administrator and will be responsible for providing hands‑on support for day‑to‑day IT operations at Jasper Ventures. This includes managing the helpdesk, providing technical assistance to users, maintaining computer systems and networks, troubleshooting system issues, and assisting in various IT projects as directed by the IT Administrator. The ideal candidate will have a problem‑solving mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate technical jargon into easy‑to‑understand language for non‑technical employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (following are accountabilities included but not limited to):

• Provide first line of IT support to internal staff, assisting them with hardware and software problems via phone, email, or in‑person
• Manage and monitor internal assets to ensure accurate inventory records
• Assist with the maintenance of network infrastructure, including data centre, network equipment, servers, and software applications
• Respond quickly and effectively to requests received through the IT helpdesk
• Document internal procedures, user guides, and IT‑related instructions
• Assist with network and hardware troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs
• Collaborate with IT Administrator to ensure smooth deployment of new and upgraded systems
• Maintain user PCs, printers, servers, and other hardware technologies
• Participate in the set‑up and takedown of network infrastructure at various sites as needed
• Coordinate with vendors for the repair of system malfunctions that are beyond the scope of internal capability
• Other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the business

Skills and Abilities:

• Working knowledge of relevant operating systems, software and programming
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing computers, printers, and network systems
• Excellent problem‑solving and critical thinking skills
• Ability to explain complex IT concepts in simple terms
• Exceptional customer service skills, with a focus on delivering high‑quality user experience
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 and familiar with VPN configuration, preferably Edge VPN such as CATO
• Scripting and automation knowledge is a plus

Education, Training and Experience:

• Associate degree in computer science, information technology, or similar field. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• At least two years' experience in a similar role
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to lift at least 50 lbs.

Work Context:

• The primary work location is the Corporate Office in Whitehouse, TX. This role may occasionally require extended hours to align with project schedules. The IT Support Specialist will be included in an on‑call rotation to address emergency IT issues that arise outside standard business hours.
• This position involves approximately 20% travel, including regular visits to various company locations for IT support, network deployments, and teardowns at construction sites. Experience in network deployment and teardown is a prerequisite. Therefore, the ability to effectively operate and deliver in diverse locations and conditions is essential.
• The IT Specialist may need to work in conditions that include inclement weather, heat, humidity, and exposure to dust and other particles, particularly during deployments or teardowns at construction sites.
