Support the secure operation, maintenance, and accreditation of organizational information systems. Typical duties may include configuring and sustaining Windows and Linux systems; managing user accounts, access privileges, software installations, security patches, and system updates; and troubleshooting desktop, network, virtual-machine, and hardware/software issues.

The position supports cybersecurity risk and physical-security assessments, security awareness training, incident reporting, compliance monitoring, and the development and maintenance of Assessment and Authorization documentation. IT Specialists may also assist with network routers, switches, databases, mobile technologies, and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Visio.
