Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in the United States is seeking an IT Specialist (APPSW/INET) at the GS-2210-12/13 to manage the DoD-wide Warfighting Mission Area architecture repository, its web application, databases and virtual infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day work, development, and maintenance of the DoD-wide Warfighting Mission Area (WMA) architecture repository including the web application, databases, and virtual infrastructure.
  • Lead development of methods for efficient data integration, analysis, control, storage, and retrieval of architecture information.
  • Consult with customers and team to understand usability requirements and translate them into UI designs, prototypes, and services.
  • Ensure rigorous application of cybersecurity/information assurance policies and liaise with cybersecurity team to ensure compliance.
  • Advise Branch Chief and senior management on tools and practices for architecture information sharing with DoD and external partners.

  • Hiring Agency: Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff

This position is part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The incumbent will be responsible for day to day management, development, and maintenance of the DoD-wide Warfighting Mission Area (WMA) architecture repository including the web application, associated databases, and virtual infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

This position is being filled under Direct-Hire Auth (Certain DoD Personnel), PL 118-31, Sec 1250B(i)(2), 12/22/2023 As a IT SPECIALIST (APPSW/INET) at the GS-2210-12/13 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serves as technical web application development expert, responsible for proving expertise and recommendations to the Branch Chief and other stakeholders on technology, usability, and accessibility.

Leads development of methods and techniques for more efficient integration, analysis, control, manipulation, duplication, distribution, storage, and retrieval of architecture information and data Consults with customers and team to understand usability requirements. Translates requirements into user interface designs, prototypes and services.

Ensures rigorous application of cybersecurity/information assurance policies, principles, and practices while liaising with the cybersecurity team to ensure web design and supporting virtual environment comply with all cybersecurity directives Researches technical capabilities of partner organizations, assesses capability of contract experts, and provides recommendations to Branch on potential information sharing solutions.

Advises the Branch Chief and senior management on matters concerning the use of web applications to advance the DoDs goals with regard to architecture information sharing with the DoD and external mission partners
