Job Overview

The 711th Human Performance Wing, located at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH, is looking to hire a mid-level Information Technology (IT) Specialist to oversee IT operations for a large organization. The position oversees a team of military, civilians and contractors supporting 3500 computers across four major networks, multiple buildings and remote users.

Position Duties Include, But Are Not Limited To

• Supervision of government personnel and oversight of contract support functions.
• Leads the planning, implementation, and management of the wing (unit) cybersecurity program.
• Communicates and integrates the organization’s strategic plan, mission, vision and values into the teams strategies, goals, objectives, work plans, and work products and services.
• Conducts a wide variety of special activities in multiple IT areas and leads teams efforts in IT functional areas. Studies, analyzes, develops, and recommends new or improved management and/or IT regulations, policies, procedures, and practices.
• Organizes and leads teams across the wing, including those geographically separated units, to implement the cybersecurity program.
• Develops computer and network security guidelines, policies, and procedures. Assists wing (unit) efforts to accomplish Risk Management Framework (RMF) packages to achieve Authorizations to Operate.
• Organizes and leads teams across the wing, including those geographically separated units, to implement the RMF program.

Required Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship.
• Able to obtain and maintain designated security clearance for the position.
• Travel and/or performance of additional duties may be required.

• his is a designated Cyberspace Workforce position as a condition of employment and in accordance with DoDM 8140.03, the selectee must achieve Foundational Qualification within 9 months (Sec. 4.2.a.2.a) and Residential Qualification within 12 months (Sec. 4.2.a.2.b) of assignment. Prior to achieving full qualification, duties may only be performed under direct supervision (Sec. 4.2.a.1) unless an official waiver is granted. Failure to meet these qualification standards within designated timelines will result in removal from cyberspace duties (Sec. 4.2.a.3) or reassignment.

Experience as a lead or key member of a team performing substantive analytical or professional duties.
