Job summary

METROATLANTA AMBULANCE SERVICE INC in Marietta, GA is seeking an IT Specialist to monitor and support the organization’s IT products under the I.T. Director.

The role requires hands-on end-user support, Windows workstations, AD administration, software updates, security monitoring, and training staff in new technologies, with occasional travel and flexible hours in a busy ambulance service environment.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in computer science or two years related field experience.
• Hands-on end-user support and troubleshooting (1 year).
• User administration, desktop configuration and basic hardware understanding (1 year).
• Valid State of Georgia Driver's License

Responsibilities

• Assist I.T. Director to ensure hardware and software is fully operational.
• Provide technical assistance in computer usage to aid personnel in their roles.
• Install and supervise installation of computer systems and equipment.
• Install, update, and/or modify approved software per users requests and/or needs.
• Troubleshoot computer related problems.
• Assist in the repair of terminals, laptops, printers, modems, and other computer related equipment.
• Monitor security measures with company computers and its data.
• Assist I.T. Director with online program development designed to significantly improve company productivity.
• Provide technical input to allow for and promote corporate growth and profitability.
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Provide assistance with training of personnel on computer equipment, new software programs.

IT Specialist

EXEMPTION STATUS: NON-EXEMPT

SUMMARY: Responsible for daily monitoring of MetroAtlanta’s Management Information Technology products in close conjunction with the I. T. Director.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in computer science or two years related field experience; hands-on end-user support and troubleshooting (one year); User administration, desktop configuration and basic hardware understanding (one year.)
• Valid State of Georgia Drivers License

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:

• Experience in system administration of Microsoft Active Directory, MS Windows 10 and 11.
• Knowledge and skills to install, configure, support, and troubleshoot Microsoft Windows 10 and 11 based workstations with a focus on information security in the enterprise.
• Demonstrated ability to read English and understand medical terminology
• Demonstrated ability to write reports, business correspondence, and complete forms.
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers and superiors.
• Knowledge of the following software applications preferred: MS Office, HER Software (Zoll, ESO, etc.), VoIP phone systems

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers, and reach with hands and arms; must be able to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee is required to sit for extended periods; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee may often lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Cubical or Closed office environment, frequent interruptions, work pressure and irregularities in work schedule are expected. Employee is continuously faced with a number of projects considered to be high priority. Employee is subject to continually changing deadlines. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be required to travel and attend both regular and unscheduled meetings, some of which take place outside of regular working hours.
