Job summary

Socket.dev Information Technology Specialist in Administration oversees daily monitoring of MetroAtlanta’s MIS products in close coordination with the I. T. Manager. The role is non-exempt and requires flexibility to support hardware, software, and user needs in a dynamic environment.

The position emphasizes hands-on system administration, troubleshooting, training, and collaboration to keep all IT assets secure and productive. Strong knowledge of Windows/Microsoft tools is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or two years related field experience; hands-on data processing experience (one year); MIS operations background (one year).
• Valid State of Georgia Driver's License.
• Flexible work schedule.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance in computer usage to aid personnel in the execution of their roles.
• Install and/or supervise installation of computer systems and equipment needed.
• Install, update, and/or modify approved software per users' requests and/or needs.

SUPERVISED BY: I. T. Director

SUMMARY: Responsible for daily monitoring of MetroAtlanta’s Management Information Systems (MIS)products in close conjunction with the I. T. Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist to ensure all hardware and software is fully operational at alltimes.


• Provide technical assistance in computer usage to aid personnel in the execution of their roles


• Install and/or supervise installation of computer systems and equipment needed


• Install, update, and/or modify approved software per users requests and/or needs


• Troubleshoot computer related problems.


• Assist in the repair of terminals, laptops, printers, modems, and other computer related equipment.

• Assist I. T. Manager with on-line program development designed to significantly improve companyproductivity.


• Provide technical input to allow for and promote corporate growth and profitability.


• Perform other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or two years related field experience; hands-on dataprocessingexperience (one year); MIS operations background (one year.)

KNOWLEGDE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:

• Experience in system administration of Microsoft Exchange, Sequel 7, MS Windows, and NovellOperatingSystems.


• Knowledge and Skills to successfully implement, manage, and troubleshoot the ongoing needs ofMicrosoftWindows® 2000 and 2003–based operating environments.


• Knowledge and skills to install, configure, support, and troubleshoot Microsoft® Windows 2000- and2003-based networks with a focus on information security in the enterprise.


• Demonstrated ability to read English and understand medical terminology


• Demonstrated ability to write reports, business correspondence, and complete forms.


• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers andsuperiors.


• Knowledge of the following software applications preferred: Ortivus-Sweet Amazon, Ortivus-SweetCAD,Crystal Reports 9.0, Microsoft Office 2000, Outlook 2000; Microsoft Project Management

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers and reach with hands and arms; must beable to talkor hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk. The employee is required to sit forextendedperiods; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee may often lift and/or move up to50 pounds.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Open cubical type or closed office environment, frequent interruptions, work pressure andirregularities in workschedule are expected. Employee is continuously faced with a number of projects considered to behigh priority.Employee is subject to continually changing deadlines. While performing the duties of this job, theemployee mayoccasionally be required to travel and attend both regular and unscheduled meetings, some of whichtake placeoutside of regular working hours.
