This position offers the opportunity to work fully remote within the United States (except for Alaska and/or Hawaii). Team members who choose virtual / remote work should have an adequate space to serve as their home office, and must be able to work a schedule within U.S. Central Standard Time core business hours.

Responsibilities

The Cloud Platform Services (CPS) is responsible for defining and executing on a strategic multicloud-enabled cloud operating model that improves efficiencies, enhances flexibility, and reduces costs by means of a fully automated deployment pipelines, codified and resilient cloud infrastructure patterns, and codified compliance and security policies. As a Solution Architect in the CPS, you will help define and design cloud-based patterns and policies that are self-service, fully automated, meaningfully measured, secure and resilient, and strategic and intentional.

As a Solution Architect in the CPS, you will require a broad understanding of Azure, AWS, and industry-leading orchestration and automation technologies that are used to deploy infrastructure and solutions in the cloud. You will form collaborative partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to pro-actively identify and recommend solutions that move the business forward, as well as actively anticipate and support problem resolution during and after implementation.

  • Contributes to the development of strategic planning for the department and communicates clear, concise strategic vision.
  • Applies advanced knowledge of professional concepts and company objectives to resolve a wide range of complex issues in creative and effective ways.
  • Subject matter expert in multiple areas of responsibility; represents team within and outside own department.
  • Provides technical leadership to project teams and/or leads project teams within own area/department and across functional teams.
  • Works on large, complex initiatives that address future concepts, products, or technologies; analyzes and evaluates all variable factors and risk.
  • Has significant autonomy over day-to-day work and the planning of new assignments or projects
  • Maintains effective relationships with all levels of company management, internal and external customers which promotes understanding and produces results for both parties.
  • Establishes and monitors key performance metrics to ensure compliance of established standards, processes, and procedures.
  • Attracts and develops employees capable of achieving the goals and objectives of the company.
  • Analyzes, influences, and translates Solution reference architectures into cloud infrastructure patterns that align with overall cloud vision. May contribute to the global architecture strategies.
  • Develops, documents, and maintains architectural blueprints, process flows, and other collateral related to cloud solutions and products.
  • Defines the architectural considerations and collaborates with Lead Solution Architects, Engineers, and Product on the direction for the development of cloud-based patterns, solutions, automation, and/or enhancements. May lead the discovery process. Maintains knowledge of emerging architectural methods and technologies for application to the environment.
  • Defines, creates, and evaluates processes and cloud-based solutions using in-depth knowledge of business strategy, security, technologies, and architectural methods.
  • Listens to and evaluates customer needs to determine and provide high quality products and solutions that align with customer expectations. Identifies opportunities for improvement.
  • Actively coaches, mentors, and teaches others. Uses influence, expertise, and leadership to support other teams as they implement solutions.
  • Protects our customers, our employees, and our brands by incorporating security and compliance in all decisions, while continuously identifies opportunities for improving security and implements strategies to improve our security posture.
  • Works closely with the Lead Solution Architect to ensure pattern and solution development align closely with the strategic direction of the department, organization, and company.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
  • Must reside in the United States (does not include Alaska or Hawaii)
  • Must be able to work a schedule within U.S. Central Standard Time core business hours.
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • 3+ years relevant experience in IT, networking, system administration, or software development
  • Experience with HashiCorp’s product suite and its application to DevOps and NoOps
  • Deep understanding of cloud services, platforms (AWS, Azure), and different cloud deployment models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
  • Ability to design scalable, reliable, and secure cloud architectures
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Including the ability to assess customer needs, propose solutions, and handle objections or challenges
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve issues in complex cloud environments
  • Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred
  • AWS Specialty and/or Professional level certifications and/or Azure Expert level certifications
  • Knowledge of network protocols, DNS, firewalls, VPNs, and cloud networking concepts.
  • Knowledge of cloud security best practices, access control, encryption, and threat modeling.
  • Familiarity with various operating systems, including Linux and Windows, and their cloud-specific configurations.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation and infrastructure as code.
  • Understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, and their cloud implementations.
