Job summary

Florida Department of Transportation is seeking a Computer Support Technician II in Tallahassee to manage Service Desk tickets, perform advanced troubleshooting, and deliver excellent user support for PCs, software, and peripherals. The role includes AV/VC support, participating in statewide IT projects, and maintaining detailed documentation.

The successful candidate will install and configure PCs, coordinate warranty repairs, and ensure SLAs are met, while collaborating with IT teams on

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years of work experience in installation, maintenance and technical support of workstation hardware, or equivalent experience with Microsoft Office 365 and Windows 7 or above.

Responsibilities

• Monitors Service Desk queue and resolves support tickets as assigned.
• Documents work performed and resolution(s).
• Identify, analyze and resolve problems through troubleshooting tools and teamwork.
• Provide high level of customer service with status updates to customers.
• Assign service desk tickets to appropriate technician or group and ensure SLAs are met.
• Performs advanced troubleshooting to determine cause of problems.
• Installs and configures PCs and peripherals; provides software installation and upgrades; patches and advanced technical support.
• Works with staff on cross-area issues.
• Provides support for software applications including Microsoft Operating Systems and Office Suite.
• Performs evaluation and testing of special applications, hardware and software.
• Provides AV and VC support; assists with reserving and configuring AV/VC equipment.
• Oversees and participates in PC replacement, memory upgrade, OS upgrade projects.
• Participates on statewide IT teams; shares information and maintains documentation.
