Job summary

Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services in Tallahassee seeks a Distributed Computer Systems Analyst to provide 2nd and 3rd level technical support for department employees, covering hardware, software and networked components. You will troubleshoot, repair, upgrade and install IT equipment, assist with project planning and communicate technical issues clearly to clients and management.

Qualifications

• Six years of experience in computer systems analysis, programming or planning/designing distributed computer systems.
• One-year vocational/technical program can substitute for one year of experience.
• Three years with education and either a 720-hour program or 60 sem/90 qtr hours with CS/MIS courses.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/MIS with two years' experience in the field.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/MIS plus one year experience in the field.
• Master's degree in CS/MIS.

Responsibilities

• Assists with 2nd and 3rd level technical support for department employees and workstations.
• Provide diagnostic evaluation, troubleshooting of software and hardware, on-site and remote.
• Assist with setup of desktops, installation/relocation paperwork, and license tracking.
• Document service requests and solutions in a ticketing system; maintain inventory records.
• Adhere to the agency security program and assist with Disaster Recovery activities.
