Job description

Description:
This customer-facing, non-exempt PC/Printer field break/fix position provides hardware support and related services specifically to PC Product customers. Products include Laptop, Desktop, RPOS, and Workstation products. Printer knowledge is a significant plus. The environment is fast-paced and constantly changing, requiring positive attitudes and success in managing multiple stressors. Candidates must be self-contained, resourceful, and determined to succeed.

This team-based role involves self-starting, technical/mechanical delivery professionals. The environment presents daily challenges that include educating customers about technology, managing critical service events, and interacting with multiple levels of customer management. The team aims for complete customer satisfaction and business growth in a profitable manner and within budget. It is crucial for the Field Service Rep. to understand the financial and business impact of their work.

Typical reactive, on-site service events include:

  1. Configuring hardware, software, and network components
  2. Installing and repairing units
  3. Collaborating with escalation personnel on technical action plans for PC/print issues

Requirements:

  • Physical ability to bend, crawl, sit, lift, and move 50 pounds
  • Availability for scheduled and unscheduled overtime, including non-traditional days and holidays
  • Onsite customer-facing experience
  • Technical/mechanical hardware repair experience
  • Ability to learn new technology quickly
  • High School diploma or equivalent, with additional hardware training; college preferred

Skills: Desktop support, printer support, troubleshooting, Windows 10, imaging, hardware, help desk, active directory, installation, inventory management, customer service, ticketing system, and related skills.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range is $17.00 - $20.00/hr. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, disability, HSA, transportation benefits, PTO, and more, subject to eligibility and change.

Workplace Type: Hybrid position in Detroit, MI.
