Seminole County is offering an Information Technology internship designed to give hands-on exposure to life cycle replacement, desktop support, and mobile device management. The role emphasizes applying classroom knowledge to real-world IT problems and building practical skills for a future IT career.
The intern will assist with hardware/software troubleshooting, imaging, deployments, and endpoint maintenance while maintaining clear documentation and communication across teams.
This is a student Internship. The intern will assist the Information technology deskside support staff with a wide range of projects related to life cycle replacement, maintaining technical support for mobile device, endpoint workstations. The internship is to be both educational and practical. The goal is to apply knowledge acquired in the classroom to real-world situations, as well as gain the skills and experience that is necessary to prepare the student for a successful career in the Information Technology field.
**Salary will be determined depending on qualifications of candidates who exceed the minimum requirements as outlined within the job description.**

Assist with trouble-shooting hardware and software, execute technical service visits, installations and support to both internal and external customers.
Planning work routines, meeting performance metrics, quality control, training, documenting, and effective communication are key elements of the position.
Documenting issues and resolutions properly for record keeping and posterity.
Assist with imaging, configuring, installing, and repairing computer endpoints, while consistently following up with users to ensure proper function.
Install computer and endpoint Windows updates, software updates, firmware.
Monitor ticket workflows in accordance to SLAs.
Knowledge and competency of the following technologies:

Actively pursuing a degree in Computer Technology.
Must also possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License including the ability to travel within Seminole County.
Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to organize and prioritize tasks successfully.
Ability to communicate effectively with other team members, customers, citizens, executive leadership, and elected officials.
Work requires a high degree of teamwork, coordination with customer departments, independent judgment, initiative, and a positive attitude.
Ability to evaluate situations and exercise good judgment in making decisions.
Ability to work independently, maintain accurate and detailed records and organize and assemble data to obtain desired output.
Advanced knowledge of the methods, tools, and techniques applied to diverse IT Support in complex multi-platform networked environments.
Ability to evaluate, diagnose and develop solutions to potential and real operational and system deficiencies to ensure continued and non-disrupted service to system users.
In depth knowledge of personal computers, operating systems, Office Suite, and use of general business applications.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff at all levels of the County.
Ability to work in a dynamic environment that requires the incumbent to be sensitive to change and responsive to changing goals, priorities, and needs.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License.
All employees must attend Seminole County Required Trainings.
