Akkodis is seeking a Cyber Security Analyst for one of our clients in Dearborn, MI.
Rate Range: $45.00 to $55.00/hour; the rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
We are seeking a Cybersecurity Operations Analyst to support operational monitoring and incident response across connected vehicle, embedded, and cloud environments. This position is responsible for monitoring and triaging security alerts, supporting investigations, and helping drive the timely resolution of cybersecurity incidents.
The ideal candidate will have a strong cybersecurity foundation, including experience with API security and cloud environments. Exposure to embedded or vehicle cybersecurity is valuable, but candidates with a demonstrated aptitude and interest in learning these technologies will also be considered.
This role is onsite 4 days per week with 1 day WFH.
We are not able to work on C2C for this opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily monitoring and triage of cybersecurity alerts and potential security incidents.
- Support incident coordination, containment, remediation, recovery, and closure activities.
- Investigate security events across cloud applications, connected systems, and embedded environments using available logs and telemetry.
- Analyze security events and correlate information across multiple data sources to assist with investigations.
- Support consistent monitoring, investigation, and incident response processes across teams and regions.
- Maintain effective handoffs and continuity for active security incidents.
- Identify opportunities to improve detection logic, monitoring tools, alert quality, and response workflows.
- Collaborate with technical, security, engineering, and IT teams to execute incident response playbooks and coordinate complex remediation efforts.
- Maintain clear documentation of incidents, investigations, findings, and resolution activities.
- Work effectively within a fast-paced, 24x7 security operations environment, including shift-based coverage.
Required Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity, information security, security operations, or a related technical field.
- At least 2 years of hands‑on cybersecurity or security operations experience.
- Working knowledge of cybersecurity incident response lifecycles, escalation processes, and incident management practices.
- Experience with API security and identifying or responding to API-related security concerns.
- Exposure to cloud security operations within AWS, Azure, GCP, or another major cloud platform.
- Understanding of cloud logging, monitoring, identity, and security response workflows.
- Exposure to embedded or connected systems, or a demonstrated aptitude and willingness to learn embedded cybersecurity concepts.
- Ability to analyze security alerts, logs, and telemetry to support cybersecurity investigations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting incidents and coordinating with technical teams.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, 24x7 operational environment, including shift-based coverage.
Preferred Experience
- Experience detecting and investigating threats across cloud, application, or connected‑system telemetry.
- Experience with log correlation, alert investigation, and alert or detection tuning.
- Experience using or improving security runbooks, playbooks, and escalation procedures.
- Familiarity with embedded systems, connected technologies, or automotive cybersecurity.
- Understanding of cloud architecture and associated security considerations.
- Experience identifying recurring security incidents and recommending improvements to processes, detections, or monitoring capabilities.
- Security certifications such as Security+, GIAC, or cloud security certifications related to AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Education
- Bachelor's degree required in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- Relevant cybersecurity or cloud certification programs are preferred.
