Job summary

Garmin is seeking a full-time Manager IT at its U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. The role leads daily IT & Security activities to provide reliable systems critical to Garmin’s business.

You will collaborate with Global IT & Security leaders to align initiatives with Garmin’s strategic roadmaps and ensure delivery of key applications and technologies. Strong project leadership and team development are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years IT technology experience and 3 years IT management experience.
• Knowledge of storage systems: blocks, file, object storage; SAN/NAS; Fibre Channel; iSCSI.
• Experience in IT strategic planning, project management and policy development.
• Strong knowledge of networks, operating systems, IT architecture (cloud/virtual), IT security, and IT processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership for day-to-day IT & security activities.
• Collaborate with Global IT & Security leaders to align initiatives with Garmin’s roadmaps.
• Ensure delivery of critical IT & Security applications and technologies.
• Communicate priorities and requirements to stakeholders across departments.
• Plan and schedule work; allocate resources and manage performance metrics.
• Lead planning to leverage IT assets for decision support.
• Chaperone IT & Security governance across teams; participate in meetings.
• Ensure security best practices in deployed applications and systems.
• Recruit, develop and retain high-performing teams; conduct annual appraisals.
