Job summary

Great Sky, Inc. is building first-principles AI hardware and software. They seek an hands-on IT & Security Expert to own infrastructure, security, and policy design as the company scales.

You will be the first dedicated IT hire, reporting to the CTO, collaborating directly with the team. Based in Palo Alto or Boulder, with some travel and flexible remote work, this IC role has growth potential as the company expands.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years IT and security experience, startup-ready
• Strong IAM experience: SSO, MFA, RBAC
• Secure networking: VPN, zero-trust, SSH, device management
• Cloud security on AWS or GCP: IAM & network segmentation
• MacOS/Linux/Windows fluent; IaC mindset
• Scripting/automation depth (Python, Bash, Terraform)
• Translate business needs into reliable, documented systems
• Experience collaborating with engineering and leadership

Responsibilities

• Own and manage full IT stack across macOS, Linux, Windows
• Stand up secure VPN, deploy MDM and endpoint security
• Manage IT budget, procurement, onboarding/offboarding
• Lead vendor relationships and evaluate new tools
• Support on-site server hardware and bare-metal Linux
• Define AI usage policies balancing productivity and IP protection
• Implement identity platform with SSO, MFA, RBAC
• Oversee cloud security, backups, and incident response
