Qualifications

• 7+ years of project management experience in physical security, field construction, or related environments
• Experience managing physical security or low-voltage installation projects (access control, CCTV, intrusion, alarms)
• Knowledge of physical security technologies and platforms (AMAG, Software House, Genetec)
• Experience coordinating field construction activities, subcontractors, vendors, and multiple stakeholders
• Ability to read construction drawings, wiring diagrams, specs, and design docs
• Experience managing schedules, budgets, risks, issues, change orders, and closeouts in PMO environments
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to field sites

Job Summary

Our client, a leading energy and utility provider, is seeking an IT Project Manager II - Physical Security to join their team. This role will support Corporate Security within the Enterprise Protection, Data & Analytics organization, overseeing the planning and execution of physical security system projects across access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, perimeter protection, and related infrastructure.

Contract Details

Contract Type: Contract Duration: Approximately 50 weeks, 10/19/2026 – 10/02/2027 Work Location: Oakland, CA / Bay Area Work Model: Hybrid – combination of office, field/site, and remote work Travel: Local travel to project/job sites will be required. Approved travel outside the designated home-work location may be eligible for reimbursement.

Core Responsibilities

Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, resource allocations, risk logs, communication plans, and project documentation using established PMO methodologies and templates

Lead physical security projects involving access control, CCTV/video surveillance, intrusion detection, alarms, intercoms, perimeter protection, and related low-voltage infrastructure

Conduct site assessments and job walks to validate design requirements, installation conditions, technical requirements, and project risks

Coordinate and oversee subcontractors, technicians, vendors, and installation teams to ensure work is completed according to scope, safety requirements, technical standards, timelines, and quality expectations

Manage procurement activities for project materials, equipment, permits, and other installation requirements while monitoring project budgets, labor hours, and costs

Review installation quality, troubleshoot technical issues, and coordinate inspections, testing, commissioning, as-built documentation, change orders, and project closeout activities

Serve as a primary point of contact for Corporate Security, IT, business partners, vendors, and other stakeholders, providing structured status updates and facilitating successful project handoffs

Required Skills/Experience (Must-Haves)

• 7+ years of relevant project management experience within physical security, field construction, low-voltage systems, or related environments
• Experience managing physical security or low-voltage installation projects involving access control, video surveillance/CCTV, intrusion detection, alarms, or related systems
• Strong knowledge of physical security technologies and platforms, including experience with systems such as AMAG, Software House, Genetec, or comparable platforms
• Demonstrated experience coordinating field construction activities, installation teams, subcontractors, vendors, and multiple project stakeholders
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, wiring diagrams, technical specifications, and system design documentation
• Experience managing project schedules, budgets, risks, issues, change orders, project documentation, and closeout activities within structured PMO environments
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to field/job sites throughout the assigned service area

Preferred Skills/Experience (Nice-to-Haves)

• PMP, PSP, CPP, or comparable project/security certification
• Manufacturer-specific certifications or experience with AMAG, Genetec, Avigilon, or similar physical security platforms
• Experience working for or alongside a physical security integrator
• Background in electrical systems, low-voltage trades, or physical security installation
• Construction management experience, including trade coordination, construction sequencing, general contractor environments, and onsite project execution
• Experience working with enterprise security teams, general contractors, systems integrators, and technology organizations
• Familiarity with OSHA requirements, field safety practices, and job-site compliance standards

Work Environment

Location: Oakland, CA / Bay Area; candidates should be located within San Francisco, Santa Clara, San Mateo, or Santa Cruz Counties

Work Model: Hybrid – work will be performed across company offices, project/job sites, and remotely from home

Local field travel and onsite job walks are required

The role requires appropriate field safety equipment, including FR gear, hard hat, safety boots, and safety vest

Candidate must provide a personal or supplier-provided laptop until a company-issued laptop becomes available. Home-office equipment must also be provided by the candidate or supplier.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $52.00 and $75.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
