Job summary

State of Illinois, Department of Innovation and Technology, is seeking a qualified Project Manager to oversee complex IT projects supporting the Office of the State Fire Marshal. You will guide governance, manage requirements, and ensure alignment with agency objectives through SDLC and Agile practices.

You will also lead vendor management, contract oversight, and business process transformations while collaborating across agencies to meet quality and security standards.

Qualifications

• Requires a four-year college degree in a computer science or related field.
• Requires at least three years of professional IT/project management experience in application services or related field.
• Demonstrated ability to develop, monitor, and maintain performance metrics in a PMO environment.
• Experience gathering, validating, and documenting business requirements with formal documentation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Project Manager for complex IT initiatives within DoIT and OSFM.
• Lead requirements analysis, design, testing, implementation, and documentation of information systems.
• Manage state contracts and vendor oversight to ensure scope, budget, and quality goals.
• Apply standardized policies and procedures for consistency and compliance across projects.
• Maintain current knowledge of Telecommunications/IT developments through ongoing education.
• Perform other duties as required within the project management scope.
