Job summary

Systematix is seeking a Junior IT Project Manager to support planning, coordination, and delivery of technology initiatives for a medical technology partner. The role focuses on organized documentation, stakeholder collaboration, and adherence to PM methodologies within a regulated environment.

You will work with senior PMs, technical teams, and business stakeholders to ensure projects stay on track, meet requirements, and align with SDLC processes.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of IT project management or coordination experience.
• Experience supporting technology implementations through multiple lifecycle stages.
• Strong experience with Jira and familiarity with Confluence or similar tools.
• Experience developing and maintaining project plans, requirements, task tracking, status reporting, and documentation.
• Strong meeting facilitation and stakeholder coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Support SDLC requirements and ensure necessary documentation is completed.
• Assist with preparation and presentation of updates, risks, issues, and leadership information.
• Maintain current project documentation and proper storage of information.
• Use Jira and Confluence to manage activities, requirements, and reporting.
• Ensure development aligns with SOX and FDA requirements.
• Track risks, issues, dependencies, actions, and decisions; follow up with owners.
• Capture lessons learned and share findings for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with technical teams, stakeholders, and leadership through the lifecycle.

We are Systematix and we are currently looking for a Junior IT Project Manager to support the planning, coordination, and delivery of technology initiatives for one of our Medical Technology partners.

ABOUT THE PROJECT
Our client is a global leader in medical technology, operating within a highly regulated environment where technology projects must meet both business objectives and rigorous compliance requirements.
The successful candidate will work within the Information Technology organization, supporting the delivery of multiple IT projects from planning and requirements through implementation. Working closely with senior project managers, project owners, technical teams, and business stakeholders, this individual will help ensure projects remain organized, properly documented, and on track.
This is a hands‑on project management role requiring strong organizational and communication skills, experience with Jira and Confluence, and the ability to effectively coordinate activities across multiple stakeholder groups.

ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support the planning, coordination, and execution of IT projects using established project management processes and methodologies.
• Develop and maintain project plans, requirements, schedules, tasks, and supporting project documentation.
• Gather, document, and maintain clear and well‑written business and technical requirements.
• Lead project meetings with stakeholders and task owners to coordinate activities, review progress, and ensure appropriate follow‑up.
• Ensure active and backlog tasks are regularly reviewed, prioritized, and appropriately maintained by project team members.
• Support Senior Project Managers and project owners with meeting coordination, task follow‑up, status reporting, and project administration.
• Schedule, prepare for, and support Executive Steering Committee, stakeholder, and project team meetings.
• Monitor day‑to‑day project activities to ensure progress remains aligned with established schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
• Support System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) requirements and ensure required project processes and documentation are completed.
• Assist with the preparation and presentation of project updates, status reports, risks, issues, and other information for stakeholders and leadership.
• Maintain accurate and current project documentation and ensure information is stored appropriately.
• Use Jira and Confluence to manage project activities, tasks, requirements, documentation, and reporting.
• Help ensure development and project activities align with applicable SOX and FDA requirements.
• Track project risks, issues, dependencies, actions, and decisions and follow up with appropriate owners.
• Capture project lessons learned and share findings with project teams to support continuous improvement.
• Collaborate effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders, and project leadership throughout the project lifecycle.

ABOUT THE REQUIREMENTS

• 2+ years of demonstrated IT project management or project coordination experience.
• Experience supporting technology implementations and projects through multiple stages of the project lifecycle.
• Strong experience with Jira and familiarity with Confluence or comparable project collaboration and documentation tools.
• Experience developing and maintaining project plans, requirements, task tracking, status reporting, and project documentation.
• Strong meeting facilitation and stakeholder coordination skills.
• Ability to proactively follow up on tasks, actions, and deliverables to maintain project momentum.
• Strong written communication skills with the ability to develop clear, accurate, and well‑organized project documentation.
• Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across project teams.
• Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• PMP, Agile, Scrum, or related project management certification.
• Previous IT project management experience within healthcare, medical technology, life sciences, or another regulated industry.
• Experience supporting projects subject to SOX, FDA, or similar regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Experience working within a formal System Development Lifecycle environment.
• Experience supporting Executive Steering Committees or other senior‑level project governance forums.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is based in Irvine, California and will initially require onsite presence approximately 3-4 days per week.

The successful candidate will work closely with project leadership, technical teams, and business stakeholders and should be comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
